Our Mission

The Louisiana Urban Forestry Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing, promoting, and improving the value and benefits of Louisiana's Urban Forest resource through management, education, research, training and conservation.

AWARDS and CONFERENCE RESCHEDULED

Due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the LUFC has rescheduled it's Annual Conference and Awards Program to Saturday; January 21, 2006 at the Eastbank Regional Library in Jefferson Parish.

Our Strategic Plan

Adopted in 2002, the LUFC Strategic Plan outlines five major strategies.  Feel free to download the Strategic Plan to review specific goals and action items identified by our strategic planning process.  The strategies are as follows:

Sustain the Council with financial stability.

Continue to develop and implement a comprehensive public relations plan.

Continue to develop educational programs.

bullet

Assist LDAF and the federal government in the improvement and delivery of the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program.
